Thomas Alan Burgess was born in Abbey Street,
Fermoy on 6th March 1895.
His parents were Charles and Isabella Jane Burgess. The Burgess family for several
generations were coach builders in Fermoy, and in the Guys Postal Directory it is
stated that they had a premises on Grubbs Quay.
